How TrustCart Works

Payment Flow Overview
Seller Shares Checkout Link on WhatsApp
The seller creates their product on TrustCart, sets the price, and gets a unique secure checkout URL. They share this link directly in a WhatsApp DM or as a WhatsApp Status. The link shows a professional checkout page with all product details and an escrow badge.
Buyer Pays Securely via Paystack
The buyer taps the link, sees the product details and escrow protection badge, and completes payment via Paystack (card, mobile money, bank transfer). There's no way to send a fake screenshot — only real Paystack webhook confirmation triggers the next step.
Funds Held Safely in Escrow
Once Paystack confirms the payment webhook, TrustCart locks the funds in escrow. The seller is notified and can now fulfill the order. Funds remain held until the buyer confirms receipt or the escrow window expires.
Seller Gets Paid After Confirmation
The buyer receives the order and confirms delivery via a WhatsApp confirmation link or the TrustCart portal. Funds are automatically released to the seller minus the transparent TrustCart fee. If there's a dispute, it's paused for admin review.
The Dispute Process
TrustCart has a fair, structured process if buyer or seller has a problem.
Raise Dispute
Buyer reports issue within the dispute window. Funds remain held.
Upload Evidence
Both parties upload photos, chats, and proof of their case.
Admin Review
Our team reviews the evidence and reaches a fair decision within 48 hours.
Refund or Release
Funds refunded to buyer or released to seller based on the ruling.
